From 2D to 3D. My version of Cruella Deville

This is my eveningwear dress that I have been working on for school. It was inspired by winter and snow, and I designed it for a collection I called “Subtle Regality” which plays off of the intricacy of winter up close, but the clean washed out look of it from afar. It is a full length sequined dress, and it took me just about forever to sew.

Have been sketching out a cruella deville themed collection. Kind of want to look like her.

So I’ve decided to start growing an Avocado tree, I basically decided because the pit has already started to split inside the avocado that I bought - probably due to the fact that I let it sit in my fridge for over a week. It’s really coming along well, the brown shell has started to split so that mean that it will probably be sprouting soon, can’t wait to see it take form!!

Avacado pit is starting to split!! Hopefully soon a root will sprout from the bottom and I’ll be able to plant it!

This is the coat I designed this semester. Each semester I work in a group of three or more girls and we design one outfit each. This semester the focus was on outerwear so we only made one garment each. Our collection was named ‘Eclectic Treasures’ based on the different themes we each took inspiration from. I gained inspiration from extreme features and angles on buildings I saw in New York and mixed that influence with romantic details. I used fake leather, felted wool, and metal buttons with an antique look to them that I felt would complete the design.

Photo of the costume I made for halloween being modeled. I was inspired by Columbia from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Even though it’s a gold tuxedo jacket, it’s actually very versatile inthat I’ve used it and volunteered it for a multitude of things

Title Page of my design journal from a couple years ago. To be honest, even though it’s just a collage it’s one of my favourite things I’ve done.

Felted 1920’s inspired hat. It was a school project for my styles history class. I chose to make a hat the proper way, and made the felt myself and draped it over the form till I got the shape I wanted, and starched it for stiffness, did the same things to make the band, and then I hand stitches the pieces together.
